Position: Business Development Manager
Where: Office based – Aylesbury
Hours: 10 to 15 hours per week

Core Responsibilities:

  • Managing our marketing administration process
  • To secure quoted but not confirmed orders,
  • Identify and contact niche customers (mainly engraving only).
  • Site visits and face to face meetings.
  • Send out sales cards etc.
  • Following up sales leads and booking first appointments
  • Diary management
  • Booking and placing PR (press releases)
  • Research activities
  • Managing and building your database of potential clients
  • Building the database of alliances
  • Some cold calling to explore opportunities

  • Confident and articulate, able to talk to customers and potential customers over
  • the telephone
  • Willingness to contribute ideas that could make things work better and more
  • efficiently

Essential Skills

  • Good telephone manner, including a willingness to make first contact with
  • Potential clients by phone
  • Good computer skills, as a user, including experience of Microsoft Windows, basic
  • document layout, creating and using spread sheets, mail merge, data entry to
  • Customer relationship management system
  • Ability to manage a database and a newsletter system – understand it and get
  • it set up to deliver – liaise with providers
  • Ability to efficiently co-ordinate marketing projects
  • Ability to manage and help to make decisions about our marketing activities
  • A willingness and ability to quickly to pick up new systems and procedures
  • A good brain that is able to understand a small business
  • An understanding of small business marketing
  • Educated to GCSE level
  • Has had work experience in a sales and marketing/administration role

Desirable Skills

  • Experience of working in a marketing and sales environment
  • VA or PA experience
  • Specific sales support/marketing administration experience
  • Articulate and well spoken
  • Degree educated
